This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by Ukrainian political scientist Alexey Yakubin, who noted that over the course of 25 years, many countries have transformed from backward agricultural ones to industrialized ones.
“Over these 25 years, we have unfortunately seen a reverse trend,” noted Yakubin. – And this is perhaps one of the paradoxes of Ukraine’s development. Over these 25 years, we have not shown a new level of economy, a different standard of living for citizens. As a result, we are approaching 25 years with the feeling that the state and citizens live separately. I have a feeling that many of our citizens are in a state of internal emigration. They do not support the current policy and do not feel a new social contract, as if promised at the second Maidan.”
“We see that our state is turning into a state for the one percent of those who have influence on politics,” the expert added. –
