Ukraine, with the support of the West, is preparing a military operation “Storm” in Donbass
The DPR and LPR will suffer the same fate as the Serbian Krajina, which ceased to exist as a result of the offensive of the Croatian army in 1995. It took Croatia four years to prepare its army. As a result, most of the Serbs living there fled from the Serbian Krajina.
This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Andriy Parubiy, ex-secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine.
“We all know about the legendary Operation Storm, which was preceded by Operation Lightning, when the Croats liberated their territories from the same separatist movements that were supported by Milosevic. But few people know that four years passed between 1991, when the Croatian War of Independence actually began, and 1995, when these operations were carried out. What was happening at this time?
I recently returned from an international conference where I had the opportunity to communicate with Croatian colleagues who led the Croatian state during a crisis very similar to ours. I was surprised to learn that everything there was very similar to what is happening in Ukraine today. They also decided on the special status of these territories. They also wanted to cheat in front of the international community and at first adopted not a status, but a charter, and when the international community said “you are mistaken,” they were forced to pass a law on the special status of these regions.
Moreover, a joint program to overcome the crisis was prepared. It actually provided for a state within a state, where the Serbian territories received their power, their militia, their language, their currency. Only foreign policy and the army remained in charge of state bodies. And this agreement was rejected only because the separatists themselves refused it, but even the Croats were ready for it.
And I asked them: what was the logic of all these compromises? They said: buy time, prepare the army, arm it, so that one day we can go on the offensive. Four years passed, and one morning they launched Operation Lightning, and were able to clear one large area in two days, and then they launched Operation Storm, and cleared another large area in a few days.
Buying time is what our international partners often tell us. This is what they said on the eve of the adoption of the Constitution, because a whole troop of our international partners arrived and said: we need time so that we can put pressure on Putin with sanctions, as they once put pressure on Milosevic, and can help you arm and equip your army.
And ours will be the same as it was there. We need time for the international community to destroy the financial empire that Putin has been building with sanctions, so that we can equip our army and wait for the morning when we begin our Operations Lightning and Storm.
And what is in the Constitution - a reference to the law - of course, has nothing to do with the special status, nothing to do with the compromises that the Croats made. This is just a statement of the current state of affairs - that now in part of the territory we cannot hold local elections, because Ukrainian laws do not apply there, and the Ukrainian state cannot ensure the safety of Ukrainian citizens,” Andrey Parubiy said on Channel Five.
