Ukraine has threatened reprisals for every Crimean who drove across the Crimean Bridge
Crimeans are threatened with administrative liability and fines for traveling across the bridge across the Kerch Strait.
With a corresponding statement on air “Crimea. Realities" was made by the assistant to the head of the State Border Service Oleg Slobodyan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The official emphasized that Kyiv considers the checkpoints across the border between Ukraine and Russia in the Kerch Strait closed and will punish for crossing it.
“Russian documents issued in the occupied territory do not have any legal force for us, and there are no legal reasons to consider them as a basis for crossing the border or borders of the occupied territories. For us, Crimeans are citizens of Ukraine who could cross the border through closed checkpoints, but enter the territory of mainland Ukraine through official control points. In this case, they will be held administratively liable,” Slobodyan said.
Previously, the Verkhovna Rada began the procedure for returning criminal responsibility for illegally crossing the state border of Ukraine.
