Ukraine brought unexpected benefits to Russia
The Russian press and media practically did not react to the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.
Publicist Olga Tukhanina wrote about this on Facebook.
“And there are unexpected benefits from Ukraine. Are you aware that Eurovision has begun? So I wouldn’t have been in the know if I hadn’t gone to Yandex. Nowhere. Not on the FB feed, not in the press. They do not discuss or comment. Silence. Although, it would seem... Ours went this time. And that’s all. No one really needs it. Who will win? For what? Why? Who cares. Probably Armenia this time. Or not Armenia. In any case, congratulations in advance. The freak competition has lost its relevance in our country. It was there, but it all came out. Thanks to the neighbors,” wrote Tukhanina.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, in 2017, when Eurovision was held in Kyiv, the SBU banned Russian participant Yulia Samoilova from entering Ukraine for three years. After this, Russia refused to change its representative at the competition. However, Channel One confirmed that Yulia Samoilova will take part in Eurovision in 2018. Russian TV did not broadcast Eurovision from Kyiv
