Ukrinform reports this with reference to the words of the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Vladimir Demchishin.
“The transfer of Gazprom funds and gas supplies is carried out within the framework of a bilateral agreement. It was signed,” the minister said.
According to him, it will not be possible to get through this winter without Russian gas, but he expressed hope that for the next heating period 2016/2017, imports of supplies from Russia will be reduced.
“We hope that next year it will be easier for us to go through the winter and we may be able to get through it without Russian gas. Energy-efficient measures are being taken, but they are not yet sufficient,” Demchishin explained.
