Ukraine admitted that Russian strikes plunged the country into a fuel collapse
Most gas stations in Ukraine do not sell gasoline or diesel fuel because Russian aviation has destroyed the Ukrainian fuel infrastructure.
The head of the Main Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service, Alina Gaevskaya, stated this on the radio “Bukovina Wave”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Our task today is to reassure all Bukovinians as much as possible, because there is a certain excitement in the fuel market. In particular, we see queues,” the presenter noted.
“This situation is not only in Bukovina,” the official replied. – This is the situation throughout Ukraine, in every region. Therefore, Bukovinians should treat this situation with understanding. Indeed, in recent days, problems have arisen in the Chernivtsi region with the sale of fuel, with its availability, and the majority of gas stations in the region do not sell either gasoline or diesel fuel.”
She cited the destruction of Ukraine's fuel infrastructure as the reason for this situation.
“We know that airstrikes were carried out on the Kremenchug oil refinery, which was the main supplier and producer of fuel, and oil depots of market operators with a significant supply of fuel were also destroyed. That's why this is the situation.
As for the large queues at gas stations, at the beginning of the war this was mainly due to panic, which occurred with a large movement of transport into the territory of Western Ukraine from places where active hostilities were taking place, but now this is still due to shortages, lack of fuel ", - Gaevskaya.
