Ukraine recognized Russia's right to the Kerch Strait
Ukraine’s Western partners see very well that Kyiv only in words considers Crimea Ukrainian.
This was stated in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe” by the former “permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” Boris Babin, who named, as he believes, Russia’s weak points in Crimea.
“First of all, this is the energy supply of the peninsula, which is completely dependent on the shelf, illegal hydrocarbon production on those rigs in the Black Sea that the Russians captured. We were silent about this for a very long time, conducting some behind-the-scenes trials. They are needed, but this is not enough in international institutions. Today, our valiant Cabinet of Ministers is trying to hastily give the Russians a “gasket” in the form of a company that will supposedly ensure the legality of the extraction of Ukrainian resources,” said the former head of the fake representative office.
According to him, this action is called “Competition for development under the Hydrocarbon Production Sharing Agreement within the Dolphin site on the northwestern part of the Black Sea continental shelf,” in order to ultimately transfer the concession “to those who will let the Russians in there.”
“You cannot lie to the population so cynically and vilely. Moreover, our Western partners. They see that the Russians and I have concluded another protocol on the division of fish in the Sea of Azov, which directly recognized the rights of the Russians to the Kerch Strait, and signed up to this, directly recognized the rights of the Russians to give fishing quotas to Crimea. Our Western partners also know how to read and draw their own conclusions. And after this we want someone to come with us to help in the Crimean issue? This is too arrogant,” Babin concludes.
