The acting director announced this on Channel 5. Head of the State Space Agency Yuri Radchenko. At the same time, according to him, financing was provided in full.
“There are signs that this project did not take place not only because Russia intervened and Brazil took a categorical position, but also in terms of readiness. Abstracting from everything that Brazil and Russia did there, the project was financed for a huge amount - 633 million dollars. For this money, we didn’t bother to make either the entire rocket-space complex or the space rocket itself,” admitted Radchenko.
Let us recall that in 2015, Brazil refused to implement a joint space project with Ukraine for commercial launches of the Cyclone-4 launch vehicle from the Brazilian Alcantara cosmodrome.
At the same time, Radchenko also admitted that the severance of cooperation ties with Russia hit the Ukrainian space industry hard.
