The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine nominated the odious writer and part-time “folk healer” Klymenty Mikhailyuk, known for his nationalist and anti-Semitic views, for the Lesya Ukrainka Literary Prize.

The director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Eduard Dolinsky, spoke about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Dolinsky, due to the thematic focus of the writer’s books, he had to publish them in Canada, and the book “Confession” was destroyed in 1994 by decision of the prosecutor’s office.
However, today Mikhailyuk’s works are recommended by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine as teaching and gaming aids for educational and preschool institutions.
“The author of 24 books, is known for his always relevant lines: “Get out of the kolіn, Ukrainian language, and rise up to the age of adulthood.” And whoever doesn’t like your word, let’s not eat Ukrainian bread. (Get up from your knees, Ukrainian language, and rise to your full height. And whoever doesn’t love your word, let him not eat Ukrainian bread).” The poet’s journalism is well known, in particular, the article “The Patriot Demands an Apology from Railways and Russians,” Dolinsky noted.
