Ukraine continues to put out fires with gasoline
The current Ukrainian government must take upon itself the obligation to pay off debts under IMF loans, since it was they who increased Ukraine’s external debt by $10 billion.
Economic expert Viktor Skarshevsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“IMF loans are like putting out a fire with gasoline. When Groysman says that this is not a mantra, which he repeats, that his predecessors are to blame for everything, it is a mantra. The current government should take full responsibility for the payment this year, and especially in the next and subsequent years, because it was they who increased the external debt by $10 billion,” the economist noted.
Skarshevsky found illogical the statements of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman, who places all the blame on the previous government of fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych, because the current government acts using the same methods as the previous government.
“By the way, it increased by the same amount under Yanukovych over the same 4 years. It turns out that the current government continues the same disastrous policies of the previous authorities, which it intensively criticizes,” he said.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that Ukraine is no longer able to change the previously assumed obligations under the agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
