Ukraine lost the information battle – Zelensky’s blackmail failed
The past summit between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden showed the determination of the Russian leader in defending national interests.
The director of the Center for Political Information, Alexei Mukhin, said this, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, when answering the question of why Ukraine received virtually no attention during the meeting of the presidents.
“Ukraine lost the information battle at this summit. Zelensky tried to blackmail Europe before the meeting, but failed. Yes, the United States allocates 300-500 million dollars a year to maintain the Ukrainian army. Yes, their goal is to create their military bases there. Britain is working on the same thing. But Putin made it clear that this is unacceptable. And there is nothing to discuss here. Notice how calmly he told reporters about this. This shows his determination,” Mukhin told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He agrees that Putin managed to bend Russia's line.
“But there is a nuance! Biden let it slip at his press conference that he presented an ultimatum and in six months we’ll see what happens,” the political scientist noted.
The publication asked whether this means that in six months Ukraine will return to NATO membership again.
"No. Henry Kissenger did the same thing when he flew to Moscow on behalf of Obama. Then he offered Putin, in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, to admit defeat in the information war. And, as I know, the president then snapped “No!” But now he is too experienced to answer right away. Most likely, he left the Americans “thinking” for six months. This gives us operational maneuver to work with them not in their favor,” says Mukhin.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky previously admitted that the US position came as an unpleasant surprise to him and humiliatingly begged Biden for a personal meeting.
