Ukraine lost a dispute with Russia at the WTO
Ukraine committed violations during the anti-dumping investigation regarding ammonium nitrate from Russia. This decision was made by the Arbitration Court of the World Trade Organization (WTO), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported on Friday, May 18, by the Kiev edition of European Truth.
It is noted that the text of this decision has already been prepared; it is expected to be announced soon.
The publication, citing government sources, reports that the WTO has already sent the Ukrainian side a preliminary text of the decision, but until the official publication, which is expected in the coming weeks, the parties are prohibited from commenting on the case.
“The WTO demands that violations be removed. This means that we must conduct a new anti-dumping investigation, without suspending the protective duties during the investigation. It is very possible that after a new investigation, taking into account the comments of the WTO, it will be possible to prove the fact of dumping on the part of the Russian Federation,” the publication’s interlocutor said.
Let us recall that anti-dumping duties on ammonium nitrate (ammonium nitrate) originating from the Russian Federation were introduced back in 2014 and should be in effect until July next year.
In turn, Russia appealed the Ukrainian decision immediately after the first restrictions were introduced, that is, more than two years ago - an expert group in the case DS 493 “Ukraine - anti-dumping measures regarding the import of ammonium nitrate” was created back in March 2016.
