Kiev businessman and former Verkhovna Rada deputy Mikhail Brodsky, who was for some time an ally of Yulia Tymoshenko, proposes holding a referendum to peacefully divorce Donbass, Obozrevatel reports.

“Maybe I’ll express a new thought now, but Ukraine lost the war. Russia attacked us and brutally took Crimea. We gave up Crimea without war,” the publication quotes Brodsky as saying.
“Maybe we should hold a referendum, like the Czech Republic and Slovakia did? They held a referendum in Ukraine and the Donbass - and decided that, for example, we would get a peaceful divorce,” suggests Brodsky. - Would you say this is a bad idea? Yes, Donbass is the original Ukrainian land, but I don’t want my children and grandchildren to fight, I don’t want those who defend our country to be killed and maimed every day.”
