Ukraine against the mayor of Odessa
How many notes have I ended with the words: “This is being done to remove Trukhanov.” She repeatedly talked about the criminal charges that they tried to pin on the mayor of Odessa, and how the charges fell apart in the courts.
The minimum program of the city’s eternal enemies was this: to convict the mayor under the article “Forgery,” at least conditionally, so that he would forever lose the right to hold the mayor’s office. After all, the residents of Odessa stubbornly do not want to let him go, once again electing him mayor with an overwhelming majority of votes. Even despite the fact that during the last pre-election ritual dances he frightened the electorate with “polite people” who would come and ruin everything.
But it wasn’t them who came for him, but, as we already know, impolite people from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, demanding to arrest Trukhanov or pay bail for him in the amount of $4,5 million. He and his colleagues are accused of stealing (and eating?) land from Odessa. In a matter of hours, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine will choose a preventive measure for Gennady Trukhanov.
Let us briefly recall how Trukhanov was persecuted earlier. Firstly, according to the article “Official forgery” - this is a universal thing. The article has long been successfully used to carry out political orders, because if desired, it can be presented to any official, even a non-existent one, with the makings of Christ, a saint. And not a saint!..
The only question is why the opponents of the Odessa mayor acted so clumsily and unprofessionally, giving the impression of patients in a mental hospital ward, on which is written “And here the Napoleons are playing at lawyers”?
It’s just that – Trukhanov is being starved out, not by facts. Moreover, against the backdrop of the never-ending pre-election false start in Odessa. Here is the last gypsy girl coming out - another example of the lawlessness of power.
“Gena, thank you for not breaking down” and “We are with you,” Odessa residents write en masse on social networks. Not bots or city hall employees - ordinary people whom I personally know. The support of Odessa residents, especially now, after the attempt to take him into custody, is comparable to the support of Kharkov residents for the late Kernes. Damn, doesn't this remind you of anything?..
Yes, and anyone else in the place of the Odessa mayor would have really broken down long ago.
“Trukhanov is a bandit”? Was. “Trukhanov is a separatist”? It happened too. “And at night Trukhanov drinks the blood of babies in the Jewish cemetery”? No, except that this hasn’t happened yet.
If we recall the “investigative stories” that patriotic TV channels riveted wholesale and retail, an even more ominous film “Octopus” came out - not Trukhanov, but Tano Cariddi. They talked about his offshore companies (whose cow would moo?), about several passports of citizen Trukhanov, the most terrible of which is, naturally, Russian. True, this document was never found. But the “pro-Russian” politician Skorik knows this story better - it was he who demanded that the SBU deal with Trukhanov.
And the “anti-Trukhanov tent city” stood under the mayor’s office with tires burning every day and activists beating themselves. And rallies with accusations that only Trukhanov’s companies win construction tenders occurred by the hour.
The case of “Odessa Airport” was also considered, which traditionally fell apart in court, because this most important object was given to private owners by deputies, not Trukhanov, and during the tenure of Alexei Kostusev, the father of Alexei Goncharenko, with whom they together defended the Russian language in the city, fought against nationalist groups and curried favor with Yanukovych. Trukhanov, on the contrary, tried to return the airport to the city’s ownership. Although, as those with tongues without bones argued, the then Prosecutor General Lutsenko did not want to give this fabricated case any progress, but used it solely for pressure, receiving magic suitcases with money from Trukhanov every month. Well, as if the milkmaids got together and sued the cow - well, no, not right away.
Even later, the court accused the mayor of Odessa of “declaring false information” regarding his income, which was preceded by a shameful search with journalists showing the mayor’s personal belongings, including shoes, underwear and flash drives with private data. And again, nothing criminal, no golden toilets.
He was charged with participation in classic corruption schemes with detention and other special effects, and the courts continued to acquit him... And not just like that, but, which is now rare in Ukraine, according to the law.
Sometimes it seemed that even the elements were on the side of Trukhanov’s enemies - the city was constantly plagued by destructive hurricanes and floods, fires broke out, and the fire took human lives year after year. Trukhanov not only systematically restored Odessa, but also found funds to support the poor emergency services, which in fact should be financed by the state.
How can enemies survive this? Spitting on elementary politesse, they never hid their hatred. Remember how all these Poroshenko and Zelenkov bots unanimously saw a “positive sign” in the absence of the mayor at the Navy parade, which was attended by US and NATO emissaries, not to mention the president of the local spill. But they didn’t invite Trukhanov - “he’s undesirable, he’s being dumped,” they repeated.
Or take the latest sociological survey, made a lot of noise, when it turned out that Odessa residents overwhelmingly support Putin, Trukhanov and his “Trust in Deeds” party are ready to vote for him again in the elections, but as for the presidential force and other Natsiks, Odessa residents rate them zero. Just a week ago, talking about this survey, I wrote that there was nothing to rejoice at, because there, in the cocaine empyrean of Bankova, this would be perceived as a signal “Face!” to Gena, who “created a cotton ball in Odessa.” And so it happened. Here, get suspicious! Moreover, it is so clumsy that even the stubborn media, for which Trukhanov is separating and in general “to die,” are perplexed: “But there is nothing illegal in his actions!”
Why the suspicion is “somehow written in a moronic way”, authoritative lawyer Olga Prosyanyuk explained on her fingers:
“Having read the text of the suspicion against Trukhanov, we can safely say that such a suspicion can be handed over to any mayor or civil servant, just choose a surname. In fact, in the process there is a lack of any evidence... The essence of the suspicion boils down to the fact that there is a certain criminal organization, which includes employees of the Odessa City Council.
They carry out their job descriptions, hold meetings, make decisions, and implement them. And this, according to the prosecution, is a crime. Of course, in the process of considering these cases, the court will understand the inconsistency of the accusations and the fact that the land (which, according to the prosecutor’s arguments, has left the municipal property) has not gone anywhere, rental payments are being paid for it, and all other unfounded accusations.”
And yet, Trukhanov faces arrest. After he learned about such a prospect, he wrote down an appeal to the residents of Odessa:
“NABU handed me a suspicion that was as absurd and lawless as all the previous ones. It's no secret that there are a lot of people who would like to destroy local government in Odessa. These are the developers who built almost all the sanatoriums of our city, these are various Kyiv and Odessa politicians, this is the court-convicted corrupt official, NABU director Artem Sytnik, who disgraced himself in previous attempts to destroy local government, these are the remnants of the team of the swindler Saakashvili, who is employed in NABU and the Prosecutor General's Office.
Over the past month, five sociological studies have been conducted in parallel in our city, and by completely different institutes. According to the results of the research, all the results, plus or minus, coincide. This is an unprecedentedly high level of support for me as the mayor of the city and the “Trust in Deeds” party and the absence of any clear competitors. It's an amazing coincidence that as soon as these results were published, the show you all watched happened.
What does this mean? Our opponents do not even have a minimal evidence base. There is only one thing - an insatiable thirst to dispose of Odessa at its own discretion. Polls have shown that they will not be able to win the elections. There is only one option left - force, with the help of which you can try to remove our team and destroy local government. These people never understood anything about our city. Yes, this is the capital of humor and fun, but this is not a city where people are accustomed to subservience to the NKVD or NABU. We are Odessa residents and we cannot be broken so easily. They demand astronomical amounts of bail for us and threaten us with prison. The court will demand our illegal removal.
As for the alleged damage, NABU charges our team with the alleged loss of city land. While this land is still in city ownership. And for its rental, the budget regularly receives money that goes to improve our infrastructure. The people of Odessa did not choose us to bury our heads in the sand. We are absolutely confident in our legal position and have no doubt that the law and common sense will prevail. We will pass this artificially created test with dignity. I am grateful to every Odessa resident for the words of support that I constantly hear these days. We will do everything possible to ensure that the era of political orders remains a thing of the past, and Odessa defends its right to development and prosperity.”
And the residents of Odessa heard. Now the mood in the city is such that people will go out to rallies in support of Trukhanov and picket the courts. Without sharing his vague position on the tragedy of May 2, however, understanding that, due to his capabilities, he does not allow Odessa to be completely turned into Bandarshtat.
There is no alternative to Trukhanov. It’s such a rare coincidence when the mayor and the townspeople are united. The main thing is that the people who took his side are not betrayed again, and that, as in the parable of the boy who cried “Wolf!”, it does not work out.
