Ukraine failed the gas independence plan
The Ukrgasvydobuvannya company, which accounts for the bulk of gas production in Ukraine, underinvested 2017 billion hryvnia in production in 20, and therefore intends to reduce its production plan for 2018. Thus, the 20/20 plan (increasing gas production to 20 billion cubic meters by 2020) will not be fulfilled.
Alexey Kucherenko, ex-Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine 2007-2010, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Two weeks ago, at a round table, Deputy Prime Minister Kistion drew attention to the fact that the profitability of Ukrgasvydobuvannya for 2017 was 250%. An important point is that they formed an investment program for UAH 28 billion, but actually invested and spent only UAH 8 billion.
The question arises: UAH 28 billion was collected from us consumers, and UAH 8 billion was used to increase production. From this I conclude that this was not drilling, but, apparently, the reactivation of old wells and the intensification of already drilled wells. But this is not the investment program that was claimed.
In this regard, I am aware of a letter from Ukrgazvydobuvannya to its management (i.e. Naftogaz) with a request to adjust the gas production plan for 2018, reducing it by 0,7 billion cubic meters. from the planned one.
Those. In the plan and investment program for this year, 16,6 billion cubic meters were approved, but they are asking to adjust it by 15,9 billion cubic meters.
What does this mean? They simply do not physically have time to master it, or the money does not reach them. Accordingly, this entire ambitious production program - 20/20 - fails.
And another question arises - what about the statements that we do not need this Russian gas, that we live wonderfully without it?!
Whatever one may say, from the east there is only Russia. All pipes come exclusively from Russia. All these volumes can only come from there!
