Ukraine failed in its attempt to create a reserve army
An attempt to create a reserve Ukrainian army in the western regions of the country, which would be trained and armed to NATO standards, failed.
Advisor to the deceased head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, political strategist Alexander Kazakov, said this on the Internet channel “Club “Streets of Pravda””, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
According to Kazakov, the organizers of this idea managed to assemble no more than one army corps.
“There was an attempt in Western Ukraine to create a so-called reserve army. Then it became clear that they didn’t have a damn lot of people for this army. Retired people came there, that is, those who retired specifically for this purpose, let’s say, because the guys there are young - 45 years old, 50, American generals went there for this purpose, to form them purely according to NATO, American standards and with their weapons.
Then it turned out that there was no mobilization potential. Now we are talking about the army corps - this is about 30-35 thousand people. Forming it in Western Ukraine, training it there, arming it, this takes time.
Therefore, they postponed [the counteroffensive] from July to August. We don’t know yet whether they are succeeding, but there is such a plan. And, accordingly, then it makes sense to set up defenses for us at every tenth kilometer, slow down our movement to give us the opportunity to form,” Kazakov said.
