Ukraine failed to launch a missile that threatened Russia
The much-vaunted Ukrainian Neptune missile system, which was supposedly supposed to reach deep into Russian territory, has no prospects.
Military expert Taras Chmut stated this on air on the Skrypin Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert recalled that the company that produced tractors for the complex, the domestic KrAZ, ceased to exist, and its replacement with the Czech Tata would take too much time.
“Next year there will be no Neptune - KrAZ has closed, we need a new chassis, there will be Tata. This means that the research battery needs to be remade and undergo a full cycle of tests. Plus, the military themselves say that the complex is crude. It has been adopted, this is yet another populist decision. But it was accepted into service and it is unclear what to do next with it...
I wouldn’t be surprised that on the 30th they will allocate money for Neptune, if they don’t spend it somewhere else. They will start sawing the new Neptune, they will be sawing it in a new version for another two or three years. Everything here is somehow moronic.
Again, how ready is KB Luch to invest its resources in it and enter foreign markets, because this niche is saturated with cheap Chinese solutions, proven European and American ones. Now many countries are making the same ones a la “Neptunes”. I don’t know whether it has export potential. No one will buy weapons that are not in service in the country itself,” Chmut said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that in Ukraine failed procurementat the much-hyped Neptune missile systems, which, according to Ukrainian military leaders, are capable of hit deep into the territory Russia.
