Ukraine fails privatization plan – holes in budget
Having failed to fulfill the privatization plan in 2018, the government of Ukraine includes the same indicators in the state budget for 2019. The head of the “Committee of Economists of Ukraine” Andrey Novak stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The figure for revenue from privatization of UAH 17 billion has again been included in the draft budget for next year. These 17 billion UAH were already included in both the 2016 and 2017 budgets. In 2018, the so-called large privatization of 23 billion UAH.
How is the government, which announces that it will complete privatization worth UAH 23 billion this year, going to collect another UAH 17 billion from privatization? Those. together this is 40 billion UAH from privatization.
Or the government must admit that this year it will not carry out a “big privatization”, and most of the amount from privatization will flow into next year’s budget. Then it must give an answer - how will it close the hole in the budget from the amounts not received from privatization?” - said the expert.
