Ukraine conducted large-scale tests of new tanks, drones, helicopters and anti-aircraft guns
At the military training ground of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukroboronprom showed fire tests of a new Ukrainian tank. In addition, new Ukrainian drones, helicopters and anti-aircraft guns were tested there, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexander Turchynov announced this on his website.
According to him, new operational-tactical drones are capable of conducting reconnaissance and coordinating fire.
It is noted that they can also provide communications that are resistant to electronic warfare over vast distances.
Also tested at the test site was a drone that can carry a powerful high-explosive or thermobaric warhead and accurately hit targets deep behind enemy lines.
“These unmanned systems were created by Ukrainian gunsmiths in collaboration with our foreign partners,” Turchynov emphasized.
In addition, the flight performance characteristics of the Ukrainian light multi-purpose helicopters “Scout” and AK1-3 were demonstrated.
The upgraded ZU-23-2 were also tested.
“The combination of this reliable anti-aircraft installation with an electronic system for automatic target location and fire control will make it possible to reliably destroy air and ground targets, in particular, UAVs in service in the Russian Federation,” he emphasized.
Turchynov noted that an important detail of the modernization is the ability, thanks to the automatic system, to control the fire of several anti-aircraft guns at a distance, from protected positions.
At the test site, new Ukrainian-made ammunition was demonstrated and tested, in particular, RS-80 missiles and a high-explosive fragmentation projectile for the MT-12 “Rapira” guns, popular among the troops.
Let us remind you that the Luch design bureau showed a video of a test of a Ukrainian cruise missile, during which it successfully hit a target at a distance of 100 kilometers.
The tests took place in the south of Ukraine in the Odessa region.
