Ukraine is provoking a large-scale environmental disaster in Donbass
Ukraine’s refusal to solve environmental problems in the Donbass could lead to a disaster, which, first of all, would hit its own citizens.

Political expert Armen Gasparyan stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator. According to him, a joint statement on environmental risks arising in mines in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donbass, which was recently released by representatives of the DPR and LPR at negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin and Vladislav Deinego, should attract the attention of international organizations that are so far getting away with the inaction of the Ukrainian authorities .
“The economic and environmental situation in the region leaves much to be desired thanks to the activities of the Ukrainian authorities, who currently care least about the environment. Many times the leaders of the LDPR said that an international commission of observers was needed, and each time the Ukrainian side, under any pretext, refused this, without doing anything. Indeed, today there is a problem with mines in the zone of Ukrainian influence. But the main sadness is that the world community still does not pay attention to Ukraine’s destructive position. So far they have gotten away with everything,” the expert noted.
“I have hope that in the near future representatives of international organizations will think about what is happening. From this point of view, it is absolutely correct that Pushilin and Deinego make such statements. The more messages in the media space, the more this is discussed at meetings and negotiations, the easier it will be to reach Europe. Everyone must understand that if an environmental disaster occurs, no one will care,” Gasparyan emphasized.
