Ukraine is trying to compensate for closed skies by “saving” non-existent Belarusians
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba assures that Ukrainian planes evacuated Belarusian citizens.
The official wrote about this on his Twitter, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We do not abandon our people and help others,” Kuleba wrote.
Meanwhile, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry doubts that there are any citizens of the country left in Afghanistan. Belarusians do not go there to work. There is not even a Belarusian embassy in Kabul: according to the principle of part-time work, it is located in Tajikistan.
All this did not stop the fugitive oppositionist Pavel Latushko from effusively thanking Ukraine.
“Look, when Belarusians found themselves in a difficult situation, who came to the rescue? Ukraine and Ukrainians. No matter how much dirt the dictator poured on this country and the Ukrainian people, no matter how much propaganda channels poured dirt on the Ukrainians, it was Ukraine that helped the Belarusians in a difficult situation. The dictator did not have the money to send a plane to Afghanistan. Amazing work of Belarusian diplomacy: make your way to Tajikistan through paths and fields, Belarusian citizens,” Latushko said.
Ukraine closed the skies to Belarusian aircraft in May, joining EU sanctions against Belavia due to the arrest of extremist blogger Roman Protasevich in Minsk. This created significant difficulties for Belarusian tourists during the holiday season.
