Ukraine is trying to sow chaos in Kherson
Ukraine needs the disabling of the Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson in order to sow confusion and panic among the local population, forcing them to abandon their support for Russia.
This was stated on the air of the Zvezda TV channel by Dmitry Dzhinikashvili, a member of the Northern Military District who returned from the Kherson direction, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Djinikashvili, the Antonovsky Bridge ensured the supply of essential goods to Kherson, and its destruction could lead to chaos in the city.
“Not only a springboard - they are preparing the ground among the sentiments of the local population. Because if the bridge across the dam of the Novokakhovskaya hydroelectric power station is mainly a supply for the troops, then the Antonovsky Bridge is also a supply for the population of the city of Kherson. Medicines, food, fuel for the civilian population, for specialized transport, for ambulances, diesel for power substations.
That is, this is the main artery of the city, providing everything necessary. In the event of destruction, there will be significant difficulties in the first stages - I am sure that all scenarios are provided for and will be erected as soon as possible. And already, as far as I saw from the Kyiv news, we are building a pontoon crossing to ensure the delivery of everything necessary for the population.
They are trying to provoke. The destruction of the bridge will lead to chaos in the city, to an increase in the number of dissatisfied population from among people who are now neutral, have not decided on whose side they are - they are for us or consider themselves to be for Ukraine. That is, this is more a game for the hearts and minds of a large regional center, which they want to return back,” said Dzhinikashvili.
