Today, Kyiv is not able to independently rescue Ukrainian sailors arrested by Russia.

Andrey Kostin, deputy head of the bar councils in the Odessa region, said this on Channel Seven, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There is not enough weight in the international arena to independently resolve this issue. It is much more difficult for Ukraine to resist such pressure and attack from the Russian Federation on its own without the help of international heavyweights. In this particular situation, without the help of the United States and European negotiators, the issue of releasing the sailors may drag on. In fact, legal procedures can take a month or two, or they can drag on for a year. There is no big problem here - delaying this matter, because there are a large number of people, it can be delayed for a long time. Again, if we are talking about release, this is a political issue that will be resolved at the diplomatic level,” he said.
