Ukraine is paying with port bankruptcy for threats of sabotage on the Crimean Bridge
Russia had every reason to strengthen the inspection regime in the Azov Sea for ships traveling from or to Mariupol and Berdyansk, since Ukraine regularly threatens to blow up the bridge across the Kerch Strait.
The head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Leonid Kalashnikov, stated this on the air of the 60 Minutes program.
“It would be naive not to do this after they staged a provocation with our ship “Nord”. And now they may already be biting their elbows after this provocation. But it's' too late. We must do this... We must act more decisively there, and not be shy about inspections, among other things. Yes, there are inspections - they are present. What should we do if they threaten to blow up the Kerch Bridge?” – said the parliamentarian, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kalashnikov emphasized that the Sea of Azov is considered internal to the two countries, so Moscow does not violate any treaties.
Meanwhile, “First Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” Izet Gdanov “noted the need to strengthen the military policy of presence in the Azov Sea and questioned the advisability of the continued existence of Ukrainian-Russian agreements in the field of fisheries,” the press service of the fake Ukrainian department reported.
