Ukraine is selling all state property, including Donbass
Moscow - Kyiv, July 17 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Today the Ukrainian government can approve the most ambitious privatization program in all the years of independence. It is planned to put up for sale about 200 enterprises, some of which were previously included in the list of strategic ones and not subject to privatization, as well as more than 100 real estate properties. It is possible that Russian private investors will also participate in the competitions.

The list, which was discussed yesterday in Kiev, includes 50% of the shares of the largest national oil and gas production company OJSC Ukrnafta, more than 90% of the shares of unique chemical industry enterprises OJSC Odessa Port Plant and OJSC Sumykhimprom, about 75% of the shares of the energy giant mechanical engineering in the CIS - OJSC "Turboatom", from 25 to 51% of shares (according to various estimates) of the Zaporozhye Titanium-Magnesium Plant. One of the attractive objects could be the monopolist on the Ukrainian alcohol production market, the Ukrspirt concern, which unites fifty factories.
In addition, the list may include 25% stakes in a number of energy generating and energy distribution companies - Vinnytsiaoblenergo, Dneproblenergo, Kyivenergo, Donetskoblenergo, Donbasenergo, Dneproenergo, Zakhidenergo, Zakarpattyaoblenergo, "Sumyoblenergo". And small stakes in coal industry enterprises.
Buyers can be portfolio investors and investment funds that can work in high-risk environments. In the future, they will be able to sell assets profitably. Especially if the situation in the east normalizes.
A former member of the parliamentary committee on finance, Vasily Gorbal, confirmed to NG that the Ukrainian government is preparing large-scale privatization because it needs to fill the budget.
The Ukrainian authorities, in the context of competitions, will not introduce restrictions for Russian private investors, experts say. But the question is whether Russian companies will want to take part in competitions in the current political situation.
