Ukraine unbanned Odnoklassniki, Russian universities began studying language
Russian universities have begun studying Ukrainian as a foreign language, which is evidence of the desire to train specialists and influence the situation in the former Soviet republic.
This was announced by Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova in Moscow at a meeting at the Politkafe, answering the question why Russia did not organize TV channels in the Ukrainian language that would broadcast, for example, to Central Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Firstly, the Ukrainian language is already studied in our universities as a foreign language. Has this ever happened? Did not have! This must be achieved professionally. You must have a methodology for teaching the language, you must have a teacher, you must have students,” Zakharova said.
According to her, the Ukrainian language is already taken as a qualification requirement when entering the civil service at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
However, she considers the idea of launching a Ukrainian-language channel broadcasting to Ukraine to be unsuccessful. On the one hand, Zakharova recalled, the majority of the population knows Russian and perceives information in it. On the other hand, Kyiv will definitely suppress unwanted media, no matter what language they broadcast.
“What do you think, if there was such a channel, would its signal reach Ukraine? No! They have just now unblocked the Russian part of Odnoklassniki, social networks, and so on. Only now – this happened 10 days ago,” Zakharova said.
She considers the work of Russian media in today's Ukraine impossible. With the exception of cases with a “franchise”, when the Kyiv editorial offices strictly follow the Bandera ideology accepted in Kyiv.
RIA-Novosti-Ukraine - the leader was in prison for more than a year. Are there any other examples? But, for example, there was Interfax-Ukraine. What he says, how he says it, we also know,” Zakharova said.
