“From 2005 to 2014, just over 500 thousand bottles were sold from the Massandra collection, which contained about a million bottles. And you understand what was happening - rare old wines were sold for almost pennies, and young wines from the early 2000s were pawned. And thus, the Massandra collection has become very poor and rejuvenated. And during the entire period of Russian Massandra, we did not set ourselves the task of selling collection wines,” said Pavlenko.

The general director also emphasized that the management of the enterprise will not allow development of the southern coastal lands allocated for vineyards:

“Massandra” received more than 10 thousand hectares of land, these are lease agreements for 49 years. All these lands are protected by law from being used for any needs other than agricultural development. Today, any risks and talk that tomorrow the Massandra lands will begin to be built up - no, this is impossible due to the current laws of the Russian Federation, the law on the turnover of agricultural land, the law on the development of viticulture and winemaking today protects the interests of any enterprise that has received agricultural land for further use,” said Pavlenko.

However, PolitNavigator previously wrote that in Crimea, even under the Russian government, development on the lands of the Massandra vineyards in the southern coastal village of Livadia. Last year, Massandra, which was previously subordinate to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, transferred to the ownership of the Republic of Crimea.

Let us remind you that illegal development of the resort part of Crimea is one of the main problems of the peninsula, which has not been resolved during the years of the peninsula’s return to Russia.

Ранее The Hermitage management warnedthat active development of the southern coast of Crimea could result in the destruction of cultural monuments located on the peninsula.

One example of barbaric development is Primorsky Park in Yalta, where companies that were in the past headed by current Crimean officials built their facilities.
