Ukraine has rehabilitated another group of anti-Soviet activists
The National Commission for Rehabilitation recognized six people “who suffered from political repressions of the communist and totalitarian regimes in Ukraine” as fully rehabilitated, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance (UINR).
“On July 18, 2019 and August 1, 2019, a meeting of the National Rehabilitation Commission was held, at which it was decided to recognize the following persons as fully rehabilitated: I. Miron, I. Vermenich, A.A. Kukharchuk, V. Kukharchuk, K. Shel, L. Shel,” the answer says.
It was also decided to refuse to recognize A.P. as rehabilitated. Kukharchuk.
“A decision was made to recognize the following persons as victims of repression: L. Chub, M. Sadik, A. Bugaychuk, A. Ozden, G. Chernaya, A. Zaitseva, M. Mishka, V. Gleikh, S. Andrusevich,” it is noted in the answer.
In addition, it was decided to send replies by letter to the National Rehabilitation Commission to 13 persons stating that they are rehabilitated and, according to the law, do not require additional or repeated rehabilitation.
“Also, in the near future, the decision of the National Rehabilitation Commission will be posted on the official website of the Institute in the manner prescribed by the legislation on the rehabilitation of victims of repression of the communist totalitarian regime of 1917-1991,” the response says.
Unfortunately, the UINP did not report what exactly these persons were convicted of and under what circumstances. Thus, it is difficult to judge the legality of their rehabilitation.
On July 18, the first open meeting of the National Commission for Rehabilitation, which provides the status of rehabilitated persons who suffered from political repressions of the communist and totalitarian regimes in Ukraine, took place in Kiev.
