Kyiv, January 29 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Ukraine deliberately did not cancel the Kharkov agreements of 2010, which allowed Russia to station the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea. People's Deputy Boris Tarasyuk, former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated this on the air of the Sotsialna Kraina TV channel.

According to him, Russia unilaterally withdrew from these agreements, but Ukraine retains its participation because it does not recognize Crimea as Russian.
“A strange situation has arisen. In March last year, the State Duma denounced the 2010 Kharkov Agreement. I initiated an interdepartmental meeting with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, and I was surprised that representatives of these ministries almost unanimously declared that it was impossible and harmful for Ukraine to withdraw from these agreements. Some believe that in this way we deny the fact of Russia’s annexation of Crimea,” Tarasyuk noted.
