An important decision yesterday was supposed to be the consideration in the Rada of a bill providing for Ukraine's renunciation of its non-align status and the proclamation of a course towards joining NATO. However, the vote was postponed, apparently until the next meeting on December 12.
As Rada Speaker Vladimir Groysman promised, the issue of canceling the non-bloc status should be resolved by the end of the week. According to respondents “Kommersant” experts, the reason for the delay could be the reluctance of President Petro Poroshenko and his team to create an additional irritant in relations with Moscow on the eve of the Minsk contact group negotiations, which will consider the issue of a ceasefire in the Donbass.
