Ukraine decided to fence itself off from Donbass with a wall a la Yatsenyuk
Recently, a number of Kyiv politicians put forward the idea of building a wall around the Donbass republics along the line of contact, similar to the one that was built by ex-Prime Minister Yatsenyuk on the border with Russia.

The head of the “Donetsk Republic” faction in the DPR parliament, Alexander Kostenko, announced Kyiv’s desire to isolate itself from Donbass on the First Republican TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Let’s just imagine one moment: now they need to retreat, then where should they build a wall? Behind yourself? Or in front of you? You need to advance - you need to break this wire wall, you need to retreat - again you run into this wall. That is, these are all Ukrainian fairy tales about “we’ll build something there,” but in fact, “we’ll steal money from the Ukrainian budget.” Because then it will be possible to say “we built it,” but the military destroyed it, because there were offensive or retreat actions,” said the Donetsk politician.
“Therefore, these are all fictions and fairy tales: it is impossible to build where military operations are taking place. Let them make a grid along the border of the former Donetsk region, let them fence themselves off from us: it even turns out that they will save us from themselves,” Kostenko noted.
