Ukraine decided to get closer to Russia through disabled people and sexual minorities
Ukraine, which is trying to prove its rights to Crimea to the international community, did not dare to act through the UN committee that deals with international security issues.

“Izvestia” writes about this in an article dedicated to adoption by the UN of the Ukrainian resolution on Crimea, which was voted for by 70 of the organization’s 193 member countries.
The publication draws attention to the fact that the resolution was introduced through the Third Committee of the General Assembly, specializing in humanitarian issues, although theoretically for Kiev, concerned about the return of Crimea and recognition of Russia as an aggressor state, it would be logical to act through the most authoritative First Committee, which deals with issues of international security, or at most, through the Fourth - on special political issues.
“But the chances that they will be able to pass a resolution condemning Russia are minimal. Therefore, Ukraine is forced to take a roundabout route, using the Third, which usually includes issues related to the oppression of women and sexual minorities, creating a favorable environment for people with disabilities and the fight against child slavery. The questions, of course, are important, but have nothing to do with the issue of Crimea’s ownership,” writes Izvestia.
