“Ukraine decided to fight until the last woman” - Marochko
The Ukrainian state has begun active recruitment of women into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who will have to replace the dead men on the battlefield.
Military expert, representative of the LPR defense department Andrei Marochko said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Since the middle of last year, a very scandalous issue has been discussed, when they wanted to register Ukrainian women with the military. And now this work is being carried out without unnecessary publicity; women are offered to sign contracts.
Moreover, according to new legal acts, military registration specialties for women in the Ukrainian army have been greatly expanded. This was done in order to make up for the losses that the Ukrainian army suffers every day,” Marochko said.
He noted that the specialties selected for them are not at all female - the new soldiers will have to run along the front line like men and risk their lives.
“If back in the Soviet army women were radiotelephonists, or occupied other not very difficult professions, now they are gunner operators, UAV operators, and crews of anti-tank guided missiles. And the ATGM is a frame that weighs a lot; it has 3-4 pipes and optics. And this is difficult, especially considering that you still have to make a forced march to the position.
Therefore, the fact that women are attracted is quite natural. We remember statements from the other side that they will fight until the last Ukrainian. The gender was not specified, and therefore not until the last woman,” the expert added.
Marochko emphasized that women are forced to go to war by the difficult economic situation that has developed in Ukraine.
“In Ukraine there are not many ways to make money now. Almost all enterprises are in a very difficult situation, and this economic situation also forces women to go earn money.
Again, most of the men are at the front. At best, they are alive, but there are also huge numbers of widows in Ukraine now. And these are families that need to be supported. So these are women who consciously take such a step,” he concluded.
