Ukraine sharply responded to Poland's ultimatum on Bandera
Poland’s demands for Ukraine to abandon the glorification of Stepan Bandera are interference in the internal affairs of another state, which itself will choose its heroes. This was stated by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs Anna Gopko.

“There is indeed some tension in relations between Warsaw and Kiev, caused by the reckless statements of some Polish officials. Attempts to revise the Ukrainian-Polish understanding that has been developed over the years or to teach Ukrainians which heroes and how we should honor them are counterproductive for both countries. We can remind the Poles of the consequences of Operation Vistula. And this is 150 thousand Ukrainians who were evicted on ethnic grounds. We can also raise this issue more actively,” the Ukrainian newspaper Den quotes Gopko.
The day before, Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said that Warsaw will block Ukraine's potential entry into the European Union, if the problems of interpretation of history and minority rights are not respected.
