Ukraine risks being drawn into another conflict with European partners
The Czech Republic is considering the option of issuing its passports to the population of the former territories of Czechoslovakia.
The head of the Transcarpathian region, Gennady Moskal, announced this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, a number of states are already laying claim to the population of Western Ukraine.
“Now we will have series No. 2, because based on the fact that we are communicating and monitoring what the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Poland are writing about Transcarpathia, there is a question of giving the former territories of Czechoslovakia... The Czech Republic is already raising the question: “Why not, why not provide dual citizenship to Transcarpathia, after all, this was our land,” said Moskal.
Let us remind you that in the last week in relations between Ukraine and Hungary a new crisis has begun. He was prompted by a video from the ceremony of accepting Transcarpathian residents into Hungarian citizenship, which took place at the consulate in Berehove. In the video, the consul urged Transcarpathians to hide their citizenship from the Ukrainian authorities.
And Ukrainian diplomat Oleg Voloshin said that if Ukraine is poorer than Hungary, then even Ukrainians of Transcarpathia will support secession region.
