“We hope that the training truce will help strengthen stability in the region and allow us to move on to resolving political issues.
The Donetsk People's Republic, for its part, is ready to do everything necessary to comply with the agreements adopted. The children of Donbass, no matter what side of the contact line they live on, should have the opportunity to go to school in silence and peace,” said Denis Pushilin, Plenipotentiary Representative of the DPR at the Contact Group negotiations in Minsk.
In addition, as Victoria Talakina, press secretary of the Chairman of the People's Council of the DPR, noted on her Facebook page, the negotiators were able to discuss issues related to the work of the Water of Donbass enterprise, the need for the Ukrainian side to pay wage arrears to railway employees, the organization expert meetings on the environmental situation in Donbass.
At the same time, the issues of exchange of prisoners of war according to the “all for all” formula remain unresolved.
“It is quite clear to us that everything means EVERYTHING, but the Ukrainian side continues to divide the exchange lists into separate subgroups and categories. We consider absolutely unacceptable attempts to distort clause 6 of the Set of Measures, which clearly prescribes the release and exchange of all hostages and illegally detained persons on the basis of the “all for all” principle. This political decision was made by the Contact Group, signed by both the Heads of the Republics and the Ukrainian President, and supported by the Normandy format. In our opinion, there simply cannot be any other solutions,” said Pushilin’s press secretary
