Ukraine – North Korea-light
The Ukrainian regime is becoming a lighter version of dictatorship. Political scientist Denis Denisov told PolitNavigator about this, commenting on today’s arrest by the SBU of RIA Novosti Ukraine journalist Kirill Vyshinsky.
“The regime is happily sliding into the North Korea-lite format. Unfortunately, this format suits our Western partners. Until the regime changes, we cannot expect the situation to improve,” Denisov said.
He claims that arrests of journalists have become a daily normal practice of representatives of the Ukrainian special services.
“They fight primarily with citizens who represent an alternative point of view. Nothing illegal has ever been done on the site of the Ukrainian RIA Novosti. This was the only platform in Ukraine where Kyiv experts could honestly and frankly discuss the current problems of the state,” Denisov said.
