Ukraine imposes criminal charges on political prisoners
Ukraine deliberately tries political prisoners under criminal charges in order to prevent their exchange with the LDPR within the framework of the Minsk agreements.

Deputy Chairman of the People's Council of the Lugansk People's Republic Vladislav Deinego spoke about this on the ATO Donetsk channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine declares that those persons who are held in prisons and pre-trial detention centers are serving their sentences in places of deprivation of liberty, and are not connected with the situation in Donbass. This is the so-called “non-ATO” category. Having convicted a person under the article “high treason,” they believe that this is undermining the integrity of Ukraine, and he is not connected with the ATO zone. This is an ideal case, because at least there is no substitution of concepts in the crimes.
Very often, people who are detained here in Donbass are charged with purely criminal offenses. That is, the charges are being replaced with purely criminal articles. Ukraine applies all these measures to prevent a person from being exchanged,” said Dainego.
