Ukraine secretly began purchasing coal from Russia
Kyiv, October 14 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The Ukrainian government is hiding the fact that it purchases coal from the Russian Federation. People's Deputy of Ukraine Nestor Shufrich stated this on the air of “Freedom of Speech” on ICTV.

According to him, Ukraine purchases more than 3,5 million tons of coal from Russia, because due to the war in Donbass, Kyiv has no other options.
“I watch television clips and see the president against the background of a tank, the prime minister against the background of an armored personnel carrier. But they cannot stand in front of a thermal power plant and say: “Look, we have storage facilities full of coal, and it will be warm in winter.” Today the authorities are hiding the fact that we from Kuzbass, yes, from that side, must produce at least 3,5 million tons of coal in order for our power plants to operate. And we will pay foreign currency for it - $95 per ton, despite the fact that we would buy the same Ukrainian coal for $60 in a normal situation,” Shufrich said.
