Ukraine is “shrinking”

Ukraine's population is declining, which is affecting gross national income. The food supply of politicians is decreasing. Sergei Belashko, director of the Agency for Social Communications, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There is a decrease in the so-called food supply for the political class. Society is becoming poorer, the volume of national wealth is shrinking. At the same time, society does not fundamentally feel this on its own skin, because depopulation occurs due to natural decline - fewer people are born than die, due to a negative balance of migration.

If we look at the statistics, then everything should be bad - GDP per capita in the Ukrainian economy is 5 times less than in the Russian one.

But when we start to compare, it turns out that there is not such a huge difference - because in Russia there is a huge number of illegal migrants from the same Ukraine, from Central Asia, etc.

But in Ukrainian society, on the contrary, people are often present only on paper, in fact, they have been working somewhere else for a long time,” the expert said.
