Ukraine will be able to put pressure on Crimea with blackouts until new thermal power plants are built
Sevastopol, September 01 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) - Ukraine will retain the opportunity to exert political pressure by threatening to reduce electricity supplies to Crimea until two new thermal power plants are commissioned on the peninsula.
This was stated by the acting Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo, commenting on yesterday's blackout in Crimea.

“I wouldn’t like to think that this is political sabotage. We must be prepared for such provocations. To ensure independence from Ukraine, it is planned to build two thermal power plants in Crimea and Sevastopol,” he said
To reduce power consumption in such situations, a rolling power outage schedule by region is provided. It involves a planned shutdown in the evening for 1,5-2 hours.
“Today, September 1, we do not expect a power outage; power supply in the city has been restored,” Menyailo added.
