“Today we can definitely say that the relatively calm period in our lives is over. The president's opponents managed to rock the boat, and now Ukraine is returning to its usual state of uncertainty and instability. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow,” a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the BPP told the publication.

At the same time, the newspaper emphasizes that a month ago the same deputy was more optimistic.

“Now the dominant mood in power is despondency and uncertainty. The country has entered a testing period, and no one has guarantees of a cloudless future. The President would like to dismiss Groysman, using him as a lightning rod. But it is not a fact that this scenario will work. There is no good option in sight at all. The question arises: who will replace Groysman? Will the government be able to function effectively under the new configuration? There is no certainty about this,” notes Vadim Karasev, head of the Institute of Global Strategies.

In turn, Verkhovna Rada deputy from the BPP Alexander Chernenko admits that serious forces are working against Groysman’s cabinet “both in parliament and outside it.”

The presidential administration, Kommersant continues, has compiled a kind of list of “destructive elements” seeking to undermine the situation in the country.

“Poroshenko’s main opponent today is, of course, Igor Kolomoisky. And it is no coincidence that he became more active right now. Already at the end of May, Kolomoisky will have to pay to the budget a significant part of the debts of Privatbank, which belonged to him and then nationalized. He owes investors approximately 135 billion hryvnia, but does not want to compensate even part of this amount, preferring to shift responsibility to the state. It’s easier for Kolomoisky to blow up the situation in the country, to provoke a crisis, so that in these conditions it would be more convenient to bargain with a weakened government,” says political strategist Viktor Ukolov, close to the presidential administration.

In addition, Poroshenko, in addition to Kolomoisky, among those who are interested in shaking up the situation, the publication’s interlocutors in the president’s entourage name Yulia Tymoshenko.

“According to our data, Kolomoisky has actually entered into an alliance with Tymoshenko,” said an employee of the presidential administration. “Recently, Alexander Abdulin, Tymoshenko’s right hand and her treasurer, together with Kolomoisky, who arrived from Geneva, flew to the Rivne region to hold negotiations there with his allies from number of regional leaders, including the head of the Volyn Regional Council Igor Palitsa.”

The publication’s interlocutor also suggested recalling how many “strange stories” have happened recently in Western Ukraine, which was visited by the “joint Kolomoisky-Tymoshenkov landing force”: a grenade launcher attack on the Polish consulate in Lutsk, a blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border by radical demonstrators, a series of murders and armed attacks.

But a source in Tymoshenko’s party called the assumption that party members were involved in the latest events in Western Ukraine “delusions of a sick imagination,” but refused to comment on the information about the joint visit to the region by Kolomoisky and Abdulin.
