Ukraine is back on the agenda of the UN Security Council
The UN Human Rights Council plans to hear a report on the situation in Ukraine on September 25, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This question included in the agenda 39th session of the Council in Geneva.
As noted, the UN Human Rights Council will hear “an oral presentation by the High Commissioner on the human rights situation in Ukraine, followed by a statement by the country to which the report relates and an interactive dialogue.”
An oral report on the situation in Ukraine is scheduled for September 25.
This year, the 39th session of the UN Human Rights Council takes place from 10 to 28 September. At the opening of the session, the new UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, who took up her duties on September 1, will give her first review of the state of rights and freedoms in the world.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated that Ukraine plans to raise the issue of “oppression of the Crimean Tatars and everything pro-Ukrainian in Russian-occupied Crimea” at the UN General Assembly in September.
