This year, markets in Libya and Indonesia have opened for Ukrainian fruits and berries, and it is also planned to conclude agreements with the UAE, Egypt and Iraq.

Chairman of the Ukrsadprom association Dmitry Kroshka spoke about this, reports the specialized publication Agravery.
“We have identified 48 of the most potential importing countries of fruits and berries - China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Egypt, Great Britain, Tanzania, Korea, etc. Unfortunately, they are almost never dealt with,” the expert noted.
Ukraine reportedly increased berry exports by 72%
According to him, the request for cooperation with Vietnam came a year and a half ago, but the permitting documentation has not yet been agreed upon. The situation is the same with Mexico, Brazil and a number of other countries.
“For example, with Indonesia the procedure is simplified - the countries exchanged corresponding letters of intent and the process of exporting fruit products to this country has already started - according to our information, the first 500 tons of apples have already been sent there,” Kroshka said.
He added that the markets of Libya and Indonesia opened this year, in addition, it is planned to conclude agreements with the UAE, Egypt and Iraq.
“We really hope that China, India and Vietnam will soon become our customers. Export negotiations with Mexico and Japan are planned next year. If we talk about crops, then more foreign buyers are interested in Ukrainian apples, blueberries, cherries and cherries,” commented the head of Ukrsadprom.
In addition, according to him, in 2015 the official export of apples amounted to 5 thousand tons, while in the first half of 2016 7 thousand tons were exported.
“We expect that based on the results of this year we will be able to triple the results of the 2015 season,” concluded Kroshka.
