Ukraine is going to buy nuclear fuel from a bankrupt
The Westinghouse company, from which Ukraine plans to purchase fuel for nuclear power plants, is in a pre-bankruptcy state.
Member of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy Alexander Losev stated this today on the Vesti FM radio station.
“The share of nuclear energy in the world’s overall energy balance has fallen by a quarter over the past 25 years. The same company Westinghouse, which is going to supply Ukraine with fuel elements for Soviet reactors, is in a pre-bankruptcy state,” Losev said.
According to him, according to the forecast of Western experts, by 2050 the increase in nuclear energy will be only 7%.
As Politnavigator reported, the head of the Ministry of Energy, Igor Nasalik, previously announced his readiness to replace Russian fuel rods with imported fuel.
