Ukraine’s support for the petition to the German Bundestag to recognize the “Holodomor” as genocide of Ukrainians, as well as the inflating of this topic in general, is a consequence of the global trend of “victim countries”, thus trying to gain political and economic benefits for themselves.
Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is the policy now. A book was recently published in Los Angeles called “In Search of the Lost Genocide.”
All victim countries are looking for their own genocides: Hungary - communist genocide, Poles - communist and Nazi genocide, Israel - the story of the Holocaust is clear.
Why is this beneficial? First, the victim. Secondly, compensation. And thirdly, some kind of indulgences for their historical sins that the Hungarians had, who fought on the side of the Axis countries - Germany, Japan and Italy.
The Poles and Ukraine have their own.
This is the problem today, and it will grow, because today there is some kind of competition of genocides.
The Poles have already presented their financial claims to Germany, the Russian Federation, the Baltic states, and so on,” Karasev explained.
