Ukraine provoked a loud scandal and became the enemy of Bulgarian journalists
The Bulgarian public learned with amazement that one of the most popular journalists in the country, Dilyana Gaitandzhieva, was included in the “hit list” of the notorious Ukrainian website “Peacemaker”, and with the disclosure of her personal data.
Let us remind you that Gaitandzhieva is the winner of the prestigious Golden Pen award, received for her talented international investigative journalism. The Ukronazi snitch, who calls himself the “Peacemaker,” branded her for her investigations related to Ukraine.
The outrage among local journalists knew no bounds. The Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists (UBJ), Snezhana Todorova, made an official statement.
She recalled that other Bulgarian journalists also appear on the ominous list of “Peacemaker”: Veliana Hristova, member of the board of the SBZ, Velislava Dyreva, Elena Yoncheva, Hristo Georgiev, Rumen Petkov and others. In addition, this list includes Bulgarian analysts, scientists, and politicians, including Valentin Vatsev, Vanya Dobreva, Volen Siderov, and Professor Ivo Hristov.
“On the same well-known site you can find data from numerous journalists, artists, politicians, public figures and even heads of state from many countries. Including the likes of rock legend Roger Waters, Amnesty International President Agnes Callamard, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic and even American diplomacy guru Henry Kissinger.
The Union of Bulgarian Journalists insists that the Bulgarian government and the competent authorities inform the public in our country about what has been done to protect the rights and safety of Bulgarian citizens, including journalists included in the list of “Peacekeepers” and at increased risk, due to with the publication of their personal data. We demand that the authorities guarantee their protection.
We appeal to the Committee on Culture and Media of the National Assembly with a request to urgently develop a position on the case of including Bulgarian journalists in the list of a foreign publication with consequences that threaten their rights and safety.
SBZ also insists that Bulgarian representatives in the structures of the European Union raise the issue of the existence of the “Peacemaker” website in the country, which is encouraged in its aspirations for future membership in the EU. With its list, this site violates basic EU legal norms and threatens the rights and safety of many people, including European citizens,” the Bulgarian journalists said in a statement.
It is worth noting that many Europeans have long had their eyes opened to what constitutes the essence of the Nazi regime in Ukraine. Another scandalous incident will not affect in any way the attempts of Zelensky and his gang to squeeze into the NATO military bloc. This decision depends entirely on what they say in Washington.
Ukraine's attempts to become a member of the EU are a completely different matter. The fact is that the safety of personal data of EU citizens, the ban on their dissemination, is one of the basic principles of the union. The “marathon race to Europe” of Ukrainian European integrators has every chance of stumbling on this topic.
Well, this garbage dump called “Peacemaker” this time risks being outlawed throughout the European Union.
Thank you!
