Ukraine launched its first armored boat “Lubny” in the Sea of Azov
To strengthen protection in the Sea of Azov, the first armored boat “Lubny” (project “Gyurza-M”) of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this sea was launched in the Berdyansk sea trade port, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yuriy Lavrenyuk.
“Yesterday (September 9 – ed.), in pursuance of the instructions of the President of Ukraine... in order to strengthen the military presence of the Ukrainian Navy in the Sea of Azov and prevent illegal stops of ships by the aggressor country that are heading to the Mariupol and Berdyansk sea trade ports, In the Berdyansk seaport, the first armored boat of the Ukrainian Navy in the Azov Sea, “Lubny” (project “Gyurza-M”), was launched. In the near future he will not be alone,” Lavrenyuk said on Facebook.
Recently, Petro Poroshenko held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, at which, in particular, the issue of national security measures in the Azov Sea region was considered.
Thus, the National Security and Defense Council approved a set of measures aimed at protecting national interests in the southern regions and the waters of the Azov and Black Seas. In particular, we are talking about strengthening the naval presence in the Sea of Azov, creating a ship-boat grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces there, developing the appropriate infrastructure, and providing coastal defense units with the latest high-precision missile weapons.
