Ukraine disrupts prisoner exchange for fear of disclosure of truth about torture
Yesterday's disruption by the Ukrainian side of negotiations in Minsk on the exchange of prisoners is explained by the fact that Kyiv is afraid of revealing the truth about the terrible torture to which political prisoners are subjected by Ukrainian security forces.
Political scientist Denis Denisov told PolitNavigator about this.

“Ukraine is deliberately disrupting this process because it understands perfectly well that those people about whom representatives of the DPR and LPR are talking, if they find themselves free, they will tell the truth about what happened to them, about the torture they were subjected to at the hands of the Ukrainian law enforcement.
Ukraine will do everything to prevent this exchange from taking place, because everyone understands that if these people are released, the Ukrainian authorities will have to answer for their crimes.
This problem has already attracted attention from international structures. As is known from the latest report of the UN Human Rights Commission, there are a number of claims against Ukraine regarding non-compliance with human rights, ongoing torture, and illegal detentions.
The release of the hostages and their testimony will be another fact and proof of the illegality of the actions of the Ukrainian authorities,” Denisov said.
