This was announced by the Chairman of the State Food and Consumer Service, Vladimir Lapa, during a meeting with the Egyptian delegation that arrived in Ukraine to familiarize themselves with the domestic system of phytosanitary control, the press service of the State Food and Consumer Service reports.
“We highly value our trade relations with the Arab Republic of Egypt. We take a very responsible approach to the phytosanitary condition of grain sent for export. This is confirmed, in particular, by the acceptance of Ukrainian grain shipments upon their arrival in Egypt,” said the head of the State Food and Consumer Service.
According to him, last year more than 5,5 million tons of wheat and almost 841 thousand tons of oilseeds were exported from Ukraine to Egypt.
“This also indicates that Egypt is one of the main importers of Ukrainian grain. And we expect that relations between Ukraine and Egypt will have a productive continuation,” the Ukrainian official noted.
